Time seems to be swiftly running out for Modi Govt in responding to issues related to terrorism and national safety & security.
At the peak of its popularity, Modi led govt, all of a sudden, looks vulnerable in perception of people on the issues related to terrorism,national safety and security. Even die hard supporters of the Govt are getting hugely agitated over occurrences of deaths of para military & army personnel in Sukma & Kashmir bordering Pakistan. Naxal terrorism in chattisgarh causing losses of lives continue to remain unabated. However anger of people over inability of the Govt in checking naxal terrorism in chattisgarh seems to be going out of control after gruesome killing of 25 CRPF Jawans by naxals last week in Sukma. People seem to be asking, how is it that two governments in state & centre with avowed common objective of eliminating Naxal led violence look so helpless and vulnerable before naxals ?
Same is the story in Kashmir. Army Jawans continue to be insulted and beaten by small kids & even girls in Kashmir. Jawans guarding border areas in Kashmir continue to be killed at regular intervals. However, people's patience seem to be going out of control after Pak army not only killed some of our soldiers but also mutilated their bodies reminding us of killing and mutilating the body of Saurabh Kalia few years ago.
Enough of patience of people now. After all People have chosen supposedly a very strong willed govt on the matters related to terrorism and national safety and security.if Modi Govt also tries to tackle terrorism of naxals in Chattisgarh and Pak sponsored terrorism in Kashmir with Kid gloves like previous Cong govt, will people not feel let down? After all People chose Modi over Manmohan Singh for his strong will/promises exhibited in tackling terrorism.
Not that Modi Govt has totally failed in the perception of people related to terrorism. People really liked and showered huge praises after its unexpected strike over north east terrorists in Myanmar and thus avenging the killing of soldiers in Manipur. Recent Surgical strike across the border in Pak heightened the popularity of the Modi Govt with masses. These two unexpected huge clamp down on foreign soil, led people to believe that Modi Govt really means it's avowed zero tolerance policy and no nonsense approach on terrorism. However, since last Surgical strike across pak border, nothing seems to have been done consistently to show govt 's strong resolve to come out heavy on terrorists either in Chattisgarh or in Kashmir from across the border.
Time is running out fast for Modi Govt. Mere condemnation of attack mayn't be enough. Now, it need to act swiftly. Govt should come out of its inhibition of facing criticism from leftist intellectuals and so called human right activists and launch a massive combined military and air operation to weed out naxals from their dens in chattisgarh. And, last but not the least, Modi Govt should sacrifice it's own alliance Govt with PDP in Kashmir, put Kashmir under President's rule and ruthlessly kill all, irrespective of their age and gender, who try to insult/kill our soldiers. We should forget democracy in Kashmir until the time, pak & every single kashmiri begins to realize that being integral part of India is the only destiny of Kashmir.
